Every City Has Its Own Color
1720: 2026
Then a festival was held. It was Wednesday, September 18, 1720. The vegetation of İstanbul was different then, and so was the century itself.
Beneath a blue sky, they pitched their tents and gathered at Ok Meydanı with acrobat carrying his life in his pocket, 2,835 pigeons, and 80 musicians, before stretching out for an afternoon nap. When they awoke, the acrobat was gambling with his life, fish were swimming across the sky, and a ship was sailing through the night.
For fifteen days and fifteen nights, beneath a crescent moon and the millions of stars surrounding it, a single color wandered through the air, and everyone hid themselves within that color.
Then the festival came to an end, and the people of the Empire packed up their tents and returned to their homes.
